Introduction of Division of Advanced Metallic Materials (AMM)

Activities of the Division focus on application of in-house research results in industry environment and on direct collaboration with industrial companies and their research facilities.

Each department of the Division focuses on solving particular issues related to manufacturing and/or development of advanced metallic materials (Ni-, Mg- and Al-based alloys, TiAl-based intermetallics, ADI, etc.), electron beam-based technologies and other technologies such as laboratory-scale heat treatment or formulation of protective thermal barriers. These activities stem from many years of experience with structure and phase analysis and computer aided thermodynamic simulation of phase transformations. In the field of mechanical properties, Division focuses on analysis of relation between materials structure and their performance, as well as at the analysis of their failure.
